In 2013, Al-Noor University College emerged in the heart of Nineveh, embarking on its inaugural academic year with a mission to enrich higher education in the province. Its vision was to complement government colleges, carrying their esteemed mission and credibility, while expanding opportunities for student enrollment. The institution sought to open new avenues for those aspiring to complete university studies but facing limitations within the government education system.

Presently, the college comprises several scientific departments, a blend of time-honored ones dating back to its founding year and innovative additions, totaling sixteen departments. These departments include Dentistry (Morning Study), Medical Laboratory Techniques (Morning & Evening Study), Law (Morning & Evening Study), Physical Education & Sport Sciences (Morning and Evening Study), English Language (Morning & Evening Study), Arabic Language (Morning & Evening Study), Pharmacy (Morning Study), Optical Techniques (Morning & Evening Study), Radiology & Sonar Techniques (Morning & Evening Study), Dental Industry (Morning & Evening Study). Anesthesia Techniques (Morning & Evening Study), Construction Engineering and Project Management, Petroleum Engineering. Computer Educational Science, Digital Media, and Translation.

Boasting a seasoned faculty renowned locally and internationally, the teaching staff holds the highest scientific degrees, bringing extensive experience and expertise. This is complemented by an adept administrative and technical team. The college is equipped with state-of-the-art scientific laboratories, cutting-edge technologies, and well-furnished theoretical lecture classrooms capable of accommodating all students. Additionally, there are air-conditioned dormitories for student residence.

Aligned with the goals of Iraqi higher education, the college focuses on preparing students intellectually for diverse professional fields, fostering scientific research, and serving society. This three-fold mission involves scientifically qualifying students for work. administration, production, and leadership roles; encouraging innovative research and scientific activities among the teaching staff; and engaging with the community to address real-world issues and propose solutions.

Adhering to the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research’s guidelines, the college’s admission process mirrors that of corresponding governmental colleges. Prospective students must meet the admission criteria outlined by the ministry.

The duration of study varies, with dentistry and pharmacy programs spanning five years and other departments requiring four years of commitment. Upon completion, students earn a bachelor’s degree in their respective specializations from both morning and evening study programs.
